Capital Programme Framework, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

London

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is renowned for its research, postgraduate studies and continuing education in public and global health. They strive to address global and public health challenges through high-quality research, educating future research leaders and health professionals and supporting innovation and engagement.

Walter Lilly is currently appointed as a contractor on the Capital Programme Framework which will see works being carried out across their London campuses to develop their estate, providing a high quality, flexible and sustainable environment for research and education. Works include building refurbishment, internal fit out and remodelling of specialist teaching, research and CAT III laboratories, student spaces, administrative facilities, offices, catering facilities and libraries.

The framework agreement is structured in two value Lots; the first for projects up to £2 million, and the second for projects of £1 million or greater.  Walter Lilly were successful in tendering for both Lots, each of which has five contractors who will be invited to tender for each project.

As the buildings requiring works will be occupied with ongoing research activities, Walter Lilly’s experience in careful planning and execution to minimise inconvenience and adverse effects of the works on the day-to-day operations of the facilities was key in securing the Framework.
